El Demeter es un barco que parte del puerto de Varna hacia Inglaterra. El mal viaja en él. Un mal al que la pandilla de gatos hará frente.

Pelaje Gris, Zarina, Ratonero, Azabache y Sonya, son cinco gatos callejeros que viven en las calles de Varna en el año 1897. Cuando Ratonero es secuestrado para prestar servicios forzosos en un barco, el resto de sus compañeros se disponen a rescatarlo. En medio de la operación el barco zarpa, viéndose nuestros protagonistas en medio del mar sin posibilidad de regresar a casa. Eso no es lo peor, ya que ellos ignoran que la nave en las que están embarcados en la Demeter y que el Conde Drácula viaja en ella camino de Inglaterra.

LOS GATOS DEL DEMETER supuso mi primera colaboración con el dibujante Pablo Rodríguez en un cómic, y también fue mi segundo cómic con Raúl como guionista. Recuerdo que a finales de 2024 Raúl me comentó la idea del cómic y la historia me hizo ilusión así que finalmente gracias a las aportaciones de los mecenas de la plataforma Verkami fue una realidad, además de que supuso la primera colaboración de Carmona en Viñetas y Serendipia Editorial.


The Demeter is a ship departing from the port of Varna bound for England. Evil travels on board. An evil that the gang of cats will confront.

Pelaje Gris, Zarina, Ratonero, Azabache and Sonya are five stray cats living on the streets of Varna in 1897. When Ratonero is kidnapped to perform forced labor on a ship, the rest of his companions set out to rescue him. In the middle of the operation, the ship sets sail, leaving our protagonists adrift at sea with no way to return home. That's not the worst of it, as they are unaware that the ship they are on is the Demeter and that Count Dracula is traveling on it, bound for England.

LOS GATOS DEL DEMETER marked my first collaboration with the artist Pablo Rodríguez on a comic, and it was also my second comic with Raíl as the writer. I remember that at the end of 2024 Raúl told me about the idea for the comic and the story excited me, so finally thanks to the contributions of the patrons of the Verkami platform it became a reality, in addition to representing Carmona's first collaboration in Viñetas and Serendipia Editorial.
